The bulk of cable in any plant is static: panel wiring, signal runs, single-core hook-up, general power. These constructions do not need flex life or water blocking, so the specification is about the right conductor, the right insulation for the environment, and not paying for properties the installation does not use.
State the environment — oil, coolant, UV, temperature — and whether the run is static or moves. That single answer decides whether a PVC construction is sufficient or a PUR one is needed.
